is dedicated to building up women through the teaching of biblical principles
Our hope is to see women filled with joy and God's love to be a positive influence for their families and the larger community
Woman at the Well began in 2016 when Hai Vu and Chi Hoang were compelled by the same hope: to see women break through personal barriers and become faithful and confident women of God, who would powerfully impact their communities.
An inspiration came through Revelation 3:20 where God “stands at the door and knocks, and if anyone hears His voice and opens the door, He will come in and eat with that person and he with Him” (NIV). By God’s leading, specific women’s names were selected and prayed over before handcrafted invitations were sent out as knocks on their hearts . The first small table of 8 were served a formal luncheon, which was delightfully decorated and encouragingly exquisite.
Over time, different women came together and were prompted to dress up beautifully as God’s beloved and fellowship as friends sharing a meal. Beginning with affirming grandmothers, then bridging intergenerational women, and now connecting women across culture and race, what started out as a small gathering has now become an organization that intentionally works to build up all women in the love of God.
Like Hai and Chi, Trang Le, one of the first attendee, also experienced the deep love of Jesus who sees and knows every blemish, thirst, and painful past, yet fully accepts us and offers us living water that never runs dry and always satisfies. And like the Samaritan woman at the well, the three were not only given new life in Christ, but also transformed in such a way that compels them to serve women with the same love (John 4:1-42).
